Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organized Fundraising Coordinator with a focus on event management to join a pivotal team within Calgary’s non-profit sector. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and execute a variety of fundraising events, including galas, walks/runs, campaigns, and community engagement activities, from concept to post-event evaluation.
  • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximizing revenue generation.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with corporate sponsors, individual donors, vendors, and community partners to secure event support and participation.
  • Recruit, train, and manage event volunteers, providing clear direction and fostering a positive volunteer experience.
  • Coordinate all logistical aspects of events, including venue selection, catering, entertainment, registration, décor, and audiovisual requirements.
  • Develop compelling event marketing and communication materials in collaboration with the marketing team, including invitations, websites, social media content, and press releases.
  • Maintain accurate records of event participants, donations, and sponsor information using CRM software.
  • Analyze event performance against goals, preparing comprehensive reports and recommendations for future events.
  • Ensure all events adhere to health and safety regulations and organizational policies.
  • Contribute to the overall fundraising strategy, identifying new opportunities and trends in event-based fundraising.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in event planning and coordination, preferably within a fundraising or non-profit context.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, budgets, and timelines effectively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge).
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for marketing materials.
  • Familiarity with the Calgary non-profit landscape and local community.
  • Certification in Event Management (C.E.M.) or a related professional designation.
