Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking reliable and physically fit individuals to join our dynamic team as a Furniture Mover for our dedicated Weekend Shift. As a key member of our moving crew, you will be responsible for carefully and efficiently loading, unloading, and transporting furniture and other household or office items. Your precision and attention to detail will ensure that our clients’ valuable possessions are handled with the utmost care, arriving at their destination safely and without damage.
This role is crucial to our weekend operations, offering consistent work on Saturdays and Sundays. You’ll be working in various locations across the Greater Toronto Area, primarily operating from our base within the Unilever Precinct. We are looking for individuals who are not only strong and capable but also possess a positive attitude, excellent teamwork skills, and a strong work ethic. You will be expected to arrive punctually, follow instructions diligently, and communicate effectively with team members and clients alike. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload furniture, boxes, and other items into and out of moving trucks.
- Carefully pack, wrap, and protect furniture and delicate items to prevent damage during transit.
- Disassemble and reassemble furniture as required, ensuring all components are accounted for.
- Operate moving equipment such as dollies, hand trucks, and furniture pads with proficiency.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure smooth and successful moves.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a secure working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and moving vehicle.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Assist with route planning and navigation as needed, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy furniture (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly and for extended periods.
- Excellent physical stamina and strength.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for weekend shifts.
