Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and passionate Gardener to join our dynamic Landscaping & Grounds Care team in Glasgow. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general gardening duties including planting, pruning, weeding, mulching, and watering.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of garden machinery and power tools such as mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers.
  • Undertake lawn care activities, including mowing, edging, scarifying, and fertilizing.
  • Implement pest and disease control measures using appropriate, environmentally friendly methods where possible.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of safety and quality, adhering to company policies.
  • Contribute to landscape enhancement projects, including soft landscaping installations.
  • Provide advice and guidance to clients on garden maintenance and plant care where required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work sites, tools, and equipment.
  • Assist with seasonal tasks such as winter protection, leaf clearing, and spring preparations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Gardener or in a similar landscaping role.
  • Solid knowledge of horticulture, plant identification, and plant care.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining garden machinery and hand tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to perform demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Commitment to health and safety regulations.
  • Valid UK Driving License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Horticultural qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Amenity Horticulture or equivalent).
  • PA1/PA6 Spraying Certificates.
  • Experience with irrigation systems.
  • Chainsaw certification (CS30/31).
