Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Seasonal Gardener to join our team, specifically to enhance and maintain the beautiful green spaces surrounding the iconic Jean-Talon Market in Montreal. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a passion for horticulture to contribute to the aesthetic appeal and overall experience of one of Montreal’s most beloved public markets. You will play a crucial role in bringing vibrant life and color to the market’s surroundings, creating an inviting atmosphere for visitors and vendors alike.

As a Seasonal Gardener, you will be responsible for a wide array of horticultural tasks, working primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions. Your daily activities will include planting new flora, meticulously caring for existing gardens and planters, and ensuring all green areas are pristine and well-maintained throughout the growing season. This role demands a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the physical stamina required for manual labor associated with gardening.

We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, bringing their knowledge of plant care, soil health, and pest management to the forefront. You will work autonomously on assigned tasks while also collaborating with market management and other staff to align horticultural efforts with the market’s overall vision and seasonal themes. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work and finds joy in transforming public spaces into lush, verdant havens. The seasonal nature of this role means you will be integral to the transition of our gardens from spring awakening through summer’s peak to autumnal preparation, making a tangible impact on the market’s dynamic landscape. If you’re ready to get your hands dirty and cultivate beauty in a bustling, community-rich environment, we encourage you to apply.
