As a Certified Gas Technician, your days will be dynamic and rewarding. You will be responsible for a wide array of tasks, from the meticulous installation of new gas appliances and piping to performing routine maintenance, comprehensive diagnostics, and critical repairs on existing systems. This includes working with furnaces, boilers, water heaters, fireplaces, and other gas-fired units. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, inspect, and repair gas lines, meters, regulators, and gas-fired equipment (furnaces, boilers, water heaters, fireplaces, etc.) in residential and commercial settings.
  • Perform thorough diagnostics to identify and troubleshoot gas equipment malfunctions and system failures.
  • Conduct pre-start-up and post-installation inspections, ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently.
  • Adhere strictly to all TSSA (Technical Standards and Safety Authority) codes, provincial regulations, and company safety protocols.
  • Complete and submit all required documentation, including service reports, work orders, and safety checks, accurately and on time.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, explaining technical issues and solutions clearly and professionally.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service calls as required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of parts and tools within the service vehicle and ensure its proper maintenance.
  • Collaborate effectively with dispatch, other technicians, and office staff to ensure seamless service delivery.

Required Skills

  • Valid G2 or G1 Gas Technician license in Ontario.
  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience as a Gas Technician.
  • Strong knowledge of TSSA regulations and the Ontario Building Code.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and installing various gas-fired equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional HVAC certifications (e.g., ODP, Refrigeration).
  • Experience with smart home and connected HVAC systems.
  • Proficiency in using digital service management tools and tablets.
  • WHMIS and Working at Heights certification.
