Key Responsibilities
- Perform general labour duties on construction sites, including site clean-up, material handling, and debris removal.
- Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, masons) with various tasks as directed.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently, under supervision.
- Load and unload construction materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Dig trenches, spread gravel, and assist with concrete pouring and finishing.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, temporary structures, and barricades.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and site-specific safety plans.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and foremen precisely and promptly.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to perform physically demanding tasks consistently.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety protocols.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of common construction tools and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a construction labourer role.
- Valid G Class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Forklift certification or other heavy equipment operation certifications.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- WHMIS certification.
- Experience with specific construction materials or techniques (e.g., concrete, framing).
