Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services through virtual consultations (video, phone, chat).
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., labs, imaging) as appropriate for virtual care.
- Prescribe medications and manage prescription renewals in compliance with provincial regulations.
- Provide health education and preventive care advice to patients.
- Make appropriate referrals to specialists and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and confidential electronic medical records (EMR) in compliance with professional standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer reviews to enhance virtual care delivery.
- Adhere to all provincial and federal healthcare regulations, ethical guidelines, and company policies.
Required Skills
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Ontario (CPSO).
- Certification in Family Medicine (CCFP or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a General Practitioner post-residency.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective virtual patient interaction.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making abilities in a remote setting.
- Comfort and proficiency with telehealth technologies and virtual care platforms.
- Ability to work independently and manage a virtual patient panel effectively.
- Strong patient-centered approach and empathy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a dedicated virtual care practice or telemedicine setting.
- Additional certifications or training in chronic disease management or mental health.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
- Experience with specific telehealth platforms used in Canada.
