Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Research Geneticist to join our dynamic R&D team in Verdun, Montreal. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, executing, and interpreting complex genetic experiments that contribute to our understanding of disease mechanisms and the development of novel therapeutic strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement innovative genetic experiments using a variety of molecular and cellular biology techniques, including PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, and microscopy.
- Perform advanced genomic analyses, including next-generation sequencing (WGS, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq) data generation and initial interpretation.
- Utilize bioinformatics tools and statistical methods to analyze large-scale genetic datasets, identifying significant patterns and potential therapeutic targets.
- Develop and optimize new assays and protocols to enhance research capabilities and improve experimental efficiency.
- Maintain meticulous laboratory records, protocols, and data logs, ensuring reproducibility and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including molecular biologists, biochemists, and computational scientists, to achieve project goals.
- Prepare and present scientific findings, reports, and recommendations at internal meetings and, potentially, external conferences.
- Stay abreast of the latest scientific literature, technological advancements, and regulatory guidelines relevant to genetics and genomics research.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Genomics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on post-doctoral or industry experience in genetic research.
- Proficiency in common molecular biology techniques (e.g., DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, cloning, cell culture).
- Demonstrated experience with next-generation sequencing technologies and data analysis pipelines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.
Preferred Qualifications
