Hiring.zycto is looking for a motivated and dedicated Glass Installer Assistant to join our expanding team in Toronto. As a Glass Installer Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced glaziers and technicians on a variety of commercial and residential projects. Your role will involve assisting with the safe and efficient installation of various glass products, including windows, doors, shower enclosures, mirrors, and custom glass solutions. This position is hands-on and physically demanding, requiring you to lift heavy materials, work with precision tools, and maintain a high standard of safety on every job site. You will learn about different types of glass, proper measurement techniques, cutting and sealing methods, and the use of specialized equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior glaziers and technicians with the installation of various glass products (windows, doors, shower enclosures, mirrors, railings, etc.).
- Prepare job sites, including setting up equipment, safety barriers, and protecting client property.
- Measure, cut, and fit glass panels under supervision.
- Handle and transport glass materials carefully to prevent damage and ensure safety.
- Clean and prepare surfaces for glass installation, ensuring a secure and clean finish.
- Apply sealants, caulking, and other finishing materials.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean, organized, and in good working condition.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and industry standards.
- Assist with job site clean-up and waste disposal.
- Learn and apply new techniques and product knowledge as provided through training.
Required Skills
- Strong willingness and aptitude to learn a new trade.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of measurements and angles.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation to various job sites within the Greater Toronto Area.
- Commitment to working safely and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid G-class driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in a construction, manufacturing, or physically demanding role.
