Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Glazier – Glass Installer to join our esteemed team in Burnaby, BC. As a Glazier, you will be instrumental in transforming spaces through your meticulous craftsmanship, working with a diverse range of glass products, from windows and doors to custom shower enclosures, storefronts, and curtain walls. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate measurement, cutting, fitting, and installation of glass in a variety of settings. Your day-to-day will involve interpreting blueprints and specifications, preparing openings, handling various types of glass and frames, and ensuring all installations adhere to local building codes and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, fit, and install various types of glass for windows, doors, skylights, storefronts, curtain walls, and interior partitions.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and project drawings to determine dimensions and installation procedures.
- Prepare openings for glass installation, ensuring proper framing and sealing.
- Handle and transport glass safely to prevent breakage or injury.
- Install pre-assembled framework for windows and doors.
- Perform routine maintenance, repair, and replacement of broken or damaged glass.
- Ensure all installations comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with construction teams, project managers, and clients.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Glazier or Glass Installer.
- Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and installing various glass types.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices in glazing.
- Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Glazier apprenticeship program.
- Journeyman Glazier certification.
- Experience with specialized glazing systems (e.g., structural glazing, complex curtain walls).
- First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with local building codes in British Columbia.
