Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking an exceptional and dedicated Golf Pro – Club to join our esteemed team in Lorne Park, Mississauga. This is a pivotal role for a professional who is not only passionate about the game of golf but also deeply committed to fostering a vibrant and engaging club experience for all members. As our Golf Pro, you will be the face of our golf operations, instrumental in elevating the skills and enjoyment of our diverse membership base, from beginners to seasoned players.

You will be responsible for providing world-class golf instruction, designing and delivering innovative programs, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our pro shop. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership qualities, impeccable communication skills, and a genuine desire to build lasting relationships within our club community. You will have the opportunity to leverage our state-of-the-art practice facilities, advanced teaching technologies, and a supportive administrative team to achieve your professional goals.

Beyond instruction, your role extends to actively contributing to the overall culture of the club. You will organize and manage a variety of golf events, including member-guest tournaments, club championships, and inter-club competitions, ensuring each event is meticulously planned and executed to the highest standards. Your expertise will also be crucial in merchandising the pro shop, selecting a diverse range of equipment and apparel that meets the needs and preferences of our members, and managing inventory efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality golf instruction, coaching, and clinics to members of all ages and skill levels.
  • Develop, implement, and promote engaging golf programs, junior camps, and specialized clinics.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the golf pro shop, including merchandising, inventory management, and sales.
  • Conduct professional club fitting sessions and offer expert advice on golf equipment.
  • Organize and manage various golf tournaments, leagues, and special club events.
  • Maintain an expert understanding of golf rules, etiquette, and course management best practices.
  • Foster strong relationships with club members, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with club management and other departments to enhance the overall member experience.
  • Assist with course play supervision and ensure adherence to club policies and procedures.
  • Stay current with industry trends, teaching methodologies, and advancements in golf technology.

Required Skills

  • PGA of Canada Class A Professional certification (or equivalent internationally recognized certification).
  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in golf instruction and program development.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in customer service and building strong member relations.
  • Proficiency with golf technology, including launch monitors and swing analysis software.
  • Sound knowledge of golf course operations, pro shop management, and retail principles.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within a high-end private golf club environment.
  • Track record of successfully growing golf program participation and revenue.
  • Strong business acumen in retail operations, purchasing, and inventory control.
  • Familiarity with golf course management software and tee time booking systems.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
