Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Groundskeeper – Park & Facility Maintenance professional to join our team in Anniesland, Glasgow. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, edging, strimming, weeding, planting, pruning, and watering of lawns, flowerbeds, shrubs, and trees.
- Operate and maintain a variety of grounds care equipment such as mowers, strimmers, blowers, and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Undertake general landscape duties, including litter picking, leaf clearing, gritting during winter months, and ensuring pathways are clear and safe.
- Carry out minor repairs and maintenance to outdoor facilities, fencing, benches, and signage as required.
- Monitor the health of plants and turf, identifying and reporting any issues such as pests, diseases, or damage.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Assist with waste management and recycling initiatives on the grounds.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, equipment usage, and materials consumed.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and facility users.
- Contribute to larger landscaping projects and enhancements as directed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, or a similar outdoor role.
- Proficiency in operating various grounds maintenance machinery and hand tools.
- Knowledge of basic plant care, gardening techniques, and seasonal grounds maintenance requirements.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices relevant to grounds work.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- A valid UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture, Landscaping, or a related field.
- PA1/PA6 spraying certificates.
- Experience with irrigation systems maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of minor outdoor facility repairs.
