Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a motivated and reliable Gutter Cleaner – General Laborer to join our dynamic team in Toronto. This full-time position is critical to maintaining the structural integrity and aesthetic appeal of residential and commercial properties throughout the Agincourt South-Malvern West area and surrounding neighborhoods. As a Gutter Cleaner, you will play a vital role in ensuring water drainage systems are clear, functional, and free from debris, protecting properties from potential water damage. This is a physically demanding yet highly rewarding role for individuals who thrive in an outdoor work environment, possess a strong work ethic, and are committed to delivering high-quality service. You will be responsible for safely accessing rooftops, meticulously removing leaves, twigs, mud, and other blockages from gutters and downspouts, and performing general exterior cleaning tasks as required. Safety is paramount at Hiring.zycto, and comprehensive training on best practices for ladder usage, working at heights, and debris disposal will be provided. Key Responsibilities
- Safely climb and descend ladders to access gutters on various property types (single-story, multi-story homes, commercial buildings).
- Thoroughly clear gutters and downspouts of leaves, twigs, dirt, mud, and other accumulated debris.
- Inspect gutters and downspouts for blockages, damage, or required repairs, reporting findings to supervisors.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently, including leaf blowers, pressure washers, and hand scoops.
- Perform general exterior cleaning tasks such as window cleaning, siding washdowns, or minor debris removal from property grounds as assigned.
- Ensure all work areas are clean and tidy upon completion of tasks, disposing of debris responsibly.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients regarding service details and any observed issues.
- Maintain company equipment and vehicles in good working order, reporting any malfunctions or necessary repairs.
Required Skills
- Ability to work comfortably and safely at heights using ladders and safety equipment.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform repetitive tasks.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols for working outdoors and with equipment.
- Valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record (for potential company vehicle use).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in gutter cleaning, general labor, roofing, or exterior maintenance.
- Comfortable operating pressure washing equipment or other power tools.
- Familiarity with various types of gutters and downspout systems.
