Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily personal care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding, whilst maintaining their dignity and privacy.
- Support patient mobility and transfers safely, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Accurately monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and report any significant changes to the nursing staff promptly.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe patient environment, adhering strictly to infection control protocols.
- Assist with patient hydration and nutritional needs, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Provide emotional support and compassionate companionship to patients, fostering a sense of comfort and well-being.
- Engage patients in recreational and therapeutic activities to promote physical and mental stimulation.
- Document all patient care activities and observations accurately and meticulously in accordance with facility policies.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure a secure environment for patients and staff.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, their families, and all members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Basic IT literacy for record-keeping and accessing patient information.

- Willingness to undertake and complete a First Aid certification if not already held.
Preferred Qualifications
- SVQ 2/3 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
- Prior experience working in a healthcare or formal care setting.
- Knowledge of local health and safety regulations and care standards.
- Familiarity with electronic patient record systems (EPR).
