Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents/patients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and hygiene, while maintaining dignity and respect.
  • Support mobility and transfers, using equipment safely and effectively as required.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes or concerns to senior staff promptly.
  • Assist with feeding and hydration, ensuring dietary requirements and preferences are met.
  • Engage residents/patients in social activities and provide companionship to promote well-being.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and tidy environment for residents/patients.
  • Document care provided accurately and efficiently, adhering to all privacy and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with residents/patients, their families, and the wider care team.
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures, including infection control.
  • Support the nursing staff in the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant or Carer.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • First Aid certification.
  • Proficiency in an additional language relevant to diverse communities.
