Hiring.zycto is on the lookout for a highly skilled and dedicated Heavy Equipment Mechanic specializing in industrial machinery to strengthen our team in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on heavy industrial equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system failures.
- Conduct major and minor repairs on engines, transmissions, differentials, and other major components.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Perform equipment inspections to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Interpret and work from technical manuals, blueprints, and schematic diagrams.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately and comprehensively.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental guidelines.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior mechanics or apprentices as needed.
- Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies required for repairs.
Required Skills
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with industrial heavy equipment maintenance.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines (e.g., Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit).
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Expertise in electrical systems, including diagnostics and repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong commitment to safety practices and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specialized diagnostic software for various equipment manufacturers.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Experience with GPS and telematics systems on heavy equipment.
- Post-secondary education in Heavy Duty Equipment Technician program.
- First Aid certification.
