Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons across your subject specialism(s) to high school students (ages 11-18), aligning with the national curriculum and school standards.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
  • Contribute to the development and review of curriculum materials and teaching strategies.
  • Participate in pastoral care, mentoring students, and addressing their academic and personal needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with department colleagues, school leadership, and parents/guardians.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, staying abreast of best practices in education and subject-specific advancements.
  • Supervise extracurricular activities, school events, and field trips as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavioural incidents.
  • Adhere to all school policies, including safeguarding and health and safety regulations.

Required Skills

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject area.
  • Demonstrated expertise in subject matter and ability to teach at various high school levels.
  • Proven experience in classroom management and creating an effective learning atmosphere.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education or relevant subject area.
  • Experience with specific educational technologies or e-learning platforms.
  • Evidence of leadership potential or experience in curriculum development.
  • A passion for extracurricular involvement and student enrichment programs.
  • Experience teaching multiple subjects within a high school setting.
