Key Responsibilities

  • Provide respectful and compassionate personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance, in clients' homes.
  • Assist clients with light housekeeping tasks, meal preparation, medication reminders, and running errands.
  • Offer companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
  • Support clients in maintaining their independence and accessing community resources.
  • Accurately document services provided and report any changes in client condition or concerns to supervisory staff.
  • Adhere strictly to care plans, company policies, and all health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for clients.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, their families, and other members of the care team.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in home care, direct support, or a related field (minimum 18 months).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a compassionate demeanor.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
  • Proficiency in basic first aid and CPR (certification preferred upon hire).

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program or equivalent caregiving certification.
  • Experience working with individuals with diverse needs, including cognitive, physical, or developmental disabilities.
  • Familiarity with local Bakersfield community resources and services.
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish/English) is a plus.
