Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as an Entry Level Hotel Porter. More than just moving bags, you will provide exceptional customer service, offering directions, local recommendations, and responding to guest inquiries with a friendly and helpful demeanor.
This role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. You will be expected to maintain a clean and orderly lobby area, assist with minor errands, and contribute to the overall smooth operation of the front-of-house. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet guests upon arrival and assist with their luggage to and from their rooms.
- Provide accurate information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
- Assist guests with directions, transportation arrangements, and general inquiries.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lobby, entrance, and luggage storage areas.
- Safely store and retrieve guest luggage as needed, ensuring proper labeling and security.
- Handle guest requests promptly and efficiently, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Assist with delivery of packages, messages, and other items to guest rooms.
- Collaborate with the Front Desk and other departments to ensure a cohesive guest experience.
- Adhere to all hotel safety and security procedures.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Ability to lift and carry luggage and other items, often weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- High level of reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role, even outside of hospitality.
- A valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license (not mandatory, but a plus for potential future growth).
- Basic knowledge of the Lethbridge area and local attractions.
- Ability to speak multiple languages is an asset.
