Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Hotel Receptionist to join our dedicated team in Shawlands, Glasgow. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome guests upon arrival, completing check-in procedures efficiently and accurately.
- Process check-outs, handle payments, and assist with billing inquiries with professionalism.
- Manage telephone and email correspondence, including reservations, cancellations, and general inquiries.
- Provide comprehensive information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions in Shawlands and wider Glasgow.
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and issues promptly and courteously, ensuring resolution to their satisfaction.
- Maintain an organised and tidy reception area, ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments (housekeeping, maintenance, F&B) to ensure seamless guest service.
- Operate the hotel's property management system (PMS) for various front office tasks.
- Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures, including security and health and safety guidelines.
- Assist with luggage handling and transportation arrangements when necessary.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably within hospitality.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
- A proactive and positive attitude with a strong guest-focused approach.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with a Property Management System (PMS) such as Opera, Fidelio, or similar.
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
- A qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field.
