Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome all guests upon arrival, ensuring a professional and friendly first impression.
- Efficiently manage guest check-ins and check-outs, processing payments and assigning rooms accurately.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and in-person inquiries, providing comprehensive information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions.
- Assist guests with reservations, modifications, and cancellations, ensuring all details are correctly recorded.
- Resolve guest complaints and issues promptly and courteously, escalating complex problems to management when necessary.
- Maintain an organised and tidy reception area, ensuring it is always presentable.
- Collaborate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure seamless guest service.
- Process invoices, post charges, and manage cash handling in accordance with company policies.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and security procedures.
- Provide wake-up calls, luggage assistance, and taxi bookings as requested by guests.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably within hospitality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using hotel management software (e.g., Opera, Fidelio) or similar booking systems.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Hotel Receptionist.
- Knowledge of the local Roath and Cardiff area attractions and amenities.
- Fluency in additional languages beyond English.
- A relevant qualification in Hospitality Management or Customer Service.
