Job Description

As a Remote HR Generalist, you will be instrumental in supporting our employees across various HR functions, ensuring compliance, fostering positive employee relations, and championing our values from afar. You will be a vital point of contact for employees and managers, offering guidance on policies, procedures, and best practices. Your expertise will help us maintain a supportive, productive, and legally compliant workplace, even as we operate across different locations. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and general HR-related matters, ensuring prompt and accurate responses.
  • Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including comprehensive remote onboarding, performance management processes, employee relations, and offboarding procedures.
  • Ensure strict compliance with UK employment laws and regulations, proactively updating and implementing HR policies and procedures as necessary to reflect changes.
  • Administer benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and annual renewals, providing clear communication to employees.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR strategies, programs, and initiatives that align with broader business objectives and promote a positive work culture.
  • Support recruitment activities by assisting with compelling job descriptions, screening candidates, coordinating virtual interviews, and managing applicant tracking.
  • Handle employee relations issues with sensitivity and discretion, conducting investigations and mediations when required, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential HR records and data, utilizing HRIS systems effectively and ensuring data integrity.
  • Contribute to fostering a positive and inclusive remote work culture, promoting employee engagement, wellness initiatives, and a sense of community among distributed teams.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2.5 years (30 months) of progressive HR Generalist experience, ideally within a dynamic or fast-paced professional services environment.
  • Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices, with the ability to apply them practically.
  • Proven experience with HRIS systems and meticulous data management, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, critical for effective remote collaboration and employee support.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to HR challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable with virtual collaboration tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CIPD qualification (Level 5 or higher) or an equivalent HR certification.
  • Experience working in a fully remote or hybrid work model, demonstrating adaptability and self-management.
  • Familiarity with various HR software and tools specific to remote team management and employee engagement.
  • Experience in a technology, consulting, or rapidly growing startup environment, understanding its unique HR demands.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs, thriving in an agile work setting.
