Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and Certified Industrial Electrician to join our dedicated team. This pivotal role will be based at the prestigious Art Gallery of Alberta in Edmonton, where you will be instrumental in maintaining the operational integrity of complex electrical systems. As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all electrical equipment, ranging from critical power distribution systems and specialized lighting for art installations to HVAC controls and advanced security infrastructure.
The Art Gallery of Alberta presents a unique and stimulating environment for an experienced electrician. You’ll engage with cutting-edge electrical technology that supports climate control for delicate artworks, dynamic exhibition lighting, and sophisticated building management systems. Your expertise will directly contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage and the visitor experience, ensuring that exhibitions run seamlessly and the facility operates with paramount safety and efficiency. This isn’t just about fixing wires; it’s about safeguarding invaluable assets and ensuring the continuous flow of art and culture. The intricate nature of an art gallery, with its specific environmental controls, interactive exhibits, and public access areas, requires an electrician who can adapt and innovate. You will be expected to provide expert input on system upgrades, energy efficiency initiatives, and electrical safety improvements, ensuring all work complies with the highest industry standards and local regulations.
You will play a proactive role in preventive maintenance, conducting regular inspections, diagnostic testing, and calibration of electrical components. Troubleshooting and swiftly resolving electrical malfunctions will be a core responsibility, often under pressure to minimize downtime in a public-facing institution. This position demands a meticulous approach to work, adherence to stringent safety protocols, and a deep understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC). You’ll also be involved in the installation of new electrical systems for temporary exhibitions, requiring precision and an understanding of diverse power requirements. We are looking for an individual who is not only technically proficient but also possesses strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the capacity to work independently or as part of a collaborative facilities team. Your commitment to maintaining a safe and inspiring environment will be crucial. If you are a Certified Industrial Electrician looking for an impactful role within a unique cultural landmark, we invite you to power up your career with us. Embrace the challenge of maintaining an environment where art thrives.
