Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and develop new client relationships through various channels, including networking, referrals, and lead generation.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand clients' specific insurance requirements and financial goals.
- Present and explain complex insurance products and policies in an clear and understandable manner.
- Tailor and recommend appropriate insurance solutions (life, health, auto, home, commercial) to meet individual client needs.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with insurance carriers to secure the best coverage and rates for clients.
- Process applications, claims, renewals, and policy changes accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, industry regulations, and new insurance products.
- Provide ongoing client support and policy reviews to ensure continued client satisfaction and retention.
- Adhere strictly to all regulatory requirements and ethical guidelines governing the insurance industry.
- Continuously pursue professional development and licensing requirements.
Required Skills
- Valid General Insurance License (Level 1 or 2) in British Columbia (or ability to obtain quickly).
- Proven track record in sales, with an emphasis on customer service and relationship building.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of various insurance products and their benefits.
- Ability to work independently and manage a client portfolio effectively.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate of the Insurance Institute (A.I.I.) or Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation.
- Existing book of business or established professional network.
- Fluency in additional languages relevant to the local community.
- Experience with specialized insurance lines (e.g., commercial, high-net-worth).
