Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and experienced International Development Officer to join our dynamic team in Calgary. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of new international development programs and projects, aligning with organizational strategy and donor priorities.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with international partners, government agencies, NGOs, and community stakeholders.
- Manage project lifecycles from initiation to closure, including planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
- Secure funding through grant writing, proposal development, and donor cultivation, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on global development trends, challenges, and best practices to inform program design.
- Oversee project budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficient resource allocation.
- Provide technical guidance and support to field teams and local partners, building their capacity for sustainable development.
- Represent Hiring.zycto at relevant conferences, workshops, and networking events, advocating for our mission and programs.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, identifying lessons learned and adapting strategies for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development of organizational policies and strategies related to international development.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in international development, project management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in project design, proposal writing, and grant management.
- Strong understanding of international development principles, theories, and best practices.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in budget management and financial oversight of international projects.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in International Development, Political Science, Public Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
