Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cycle counts, full physical inventories, and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Process incoming goods, ensuring accurate receipt, inspection, and proper storage.
  • Support outbound shipping processes by ensuring correct stock allocation and preparation.
  • Monitor stock levels, report on potential shortages, overstock, or slow-moving items.
  • Collaborate effectively with receiving, shipping, procurement, and sales departments.
  • Generate and analyze inventory reports to provide insights for operational improvements.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in inventory control or a similar warehouse role.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and data entry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with an eye for detail.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a valued member of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and efficient time management.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift certification (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck).
  • Experience with specific inventory software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Familiarity with lean inventory management principles or Six Sigma.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
