Key Responsibilities

  • Provide frontline technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, peripherals, and software applications.
  • Perform routine system checks, backups, and monitoring to ensure optimal performance, data integrity, and security.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various platforms in accordance with company policies.
  • Document IT processes, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations for knowledge base development and team reference.
  • Support senior IT staff in projects related to system upgrades, network enhancements, and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic networking issues, including connectivity problems, Wi-Fi access, and VPN client support.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of network concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with hardware troubleshooting, component identification, and basic replacement procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a methodical approach to technical challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal abilities for effective user support.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively with a flexible schedule.
  • A foundational understanding of IT security best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar entry-level IT certifications.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and IT service management (ITSM) tools (e.g., Zendesk, ServiceNow).
  • Basic knowledge of server hardware, virtualisation concepts (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Previous experience in an IT support or operations role, even if part-time or internship based.
