Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Janitor to join our team, specifically for a bustling construction site located in the vibrant Esplanade area of Toronto. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, and dusting surfaces within offices, trailers, washrooms, and common areas on the construction site.
- Clean and sanitize washroom facilities, ensuring they are well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins regularly, ensuring proper waste segregation and disposal according to site policies.
- Maintain cleanliness of lunchrooms and break areas, including wiping down counters, tables, and appliances.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, reporting needs to the site supervisor.
- Operate basic cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or major spills to the site supervisor promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as clearing pathways or general site tidy-up as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Janitor, Cleaner, or similar role, preferably in a construction or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, with the ability to use them safely and effectively.
- Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) is an asset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard for cleanliness.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 25 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations on a job site.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid WHMIS certification.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience operating floor buffers or other heavy-duty cleaning equipment.
