Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing of surfaces in public areas, offices, restrooms, and corridors.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies (e.g., soap, toilet paper, paper towels).
- Empty waste bins and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuum cleaners, and pressure washers.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, notifying management when reordering is necessary.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, tightening loose fixtures, and reporting larger maintenance issues.
- Ensure all areas are maintained in a safe and hazard-free condition, reporting any safety concerns promptly.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Respond promptly and efficiently to unexpected spills or cleaning emergencies.
- Secure premises at the end of the shift, ensuring all entrances are locked and alarms are set if required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Janitor, Cleaner, or similar role, preferably in a public or commercial building environment.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies and their safe use.
- Familiarity with various cleaning techniques and equipment.
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and perform strenuous physical tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and a thorough approach to work.
