Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and waxing floors.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms thoroughly, restocking supplies as needed.
- Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces, ensuring a spotless appearance.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment accurately and safely.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting needs to management.
- Address immediate cleaning needs and respond to spills or urgent requests promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, including WHMIS guidelines.
- Inspect facilities regularly to identify and report maintenance issues or hazards.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of cleaning techniques and safe handling of cleaning agents.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (basic level).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous janitorial or commercial cleaning experience (6+ months preferred).
- Knowledge of WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) procedures.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience operating specialized cleaning machinery (e.g., floor buffers, carpet extractors).
- Valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record (if required for mobile roles).
