Key Responsibilities
- Generate, research, and pitch original news stories and feature ideas relevant to the local and regional audience for both print and online platforms.
- Conduct interviews with sources, officials, and community members to gather accurate and compelling information.
- Write clear, concise, engaging, and error-free copy under tight deadlines, adhering to journalistic standards and style guides.
- Verify facts, sources, and data to ensure the accuracy and credibility of all published content.
- Utilize multimedia tools (photos, videos, audio) to enhance online stories and audience engagement.
- Monitor news developments, social media, and other sources to identify emerging stories and trends.
- Collaborate with editors, photographers, and other team members throughout the editorial process.
- Maintain an active presence on social media to promote content and engage with readers.
- Attend press conferences, community meetings, and events as required.
- Ensure all content complies with media law, ethical guidelines, and company policies.
Required Skills
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English.
