Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash, sanitize, and store all dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
- Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, portioning, and organizing ingredients.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including work surfaces, floors, storage areas, and walk-in refrigerators/freezers.
- Receive and properly store incoming deliveries, ensuring correct rotation of stock and adherence to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles.
- Empty trash and recycling bins regularly, ensuring proper waste disposal.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and according to established procedures.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards, including local food handling regulations.
- Support cooks and chefs with various tasks as needed to ensure smooth service flow.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the kitchen manager promptly.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations and cleanliness standards.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, bend, lift (up to 25 lbs), and carry items.
