Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up laboratory equipment, glassware, and instrumentation for experiments.
- Assist scientists and researchers with various tasks, including sample preparation, data collection, and basic experimental procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, results, procedures, and inventory using established protocols.
- Perform routine laboratory maintenance, including cleaning, sterilization of equipment, and proper disposal of chemical and biological waste.
- Manage and organize laboratory inventory, chemicals, reagents, and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage.
- Calibrate and perform basic troubleshooting of lab instruments under supervision.
- Adhere strictly to all laboratory safety protocols, regulatory guidelines (e.g., WHMIS), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Prepare chemical solutions, media, and reagents accurately according to specified formulas and concentrations.
- Support the processing, labeling, storage, and retrieval of samples.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding experimental progress, inventory needs, and any encountered issues.
