As a Last Mile Delivery Associate, you will be the face of Hiring.zycto, directly connecting our business with our valued customers. Your primary mission will be to ensure the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of packages to homes and businesses across the Orleans area. We understand that entering a new field can be daunting, which is why we provide comprehensive paid training to equip you with all the necessary skills and knowledge. From mastering our routing software and delivery protocols to ensuring optimal safety practices, we’ll set you up for success. You’ll operate a company-provided vehicle, maintaining its cleanliness and conducting routine pre-trip inspections to ensure a smooth operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently load, unload, and deliver packages to various residential and commercial locations.
  • Operate a company-provided delivery vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
  • Navigate delivery routes using GPS and company-provided handheld devices, ensuring timely completion of deliveries.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally and courteously with recipients.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and records, ensuring all packages are accounted for.
  • Handle packages with care to prevent damage during transit and delivery.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with dispatch and other team members to resolve delivery challenges and ensure operational efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Valid G Class Driver's License (or equivalent provincial license)
  • Clean driving record (abstract will be required)
  • Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities
  • Comfortable using GPS and smartphone-based applications for navigation and delivery tracking
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer-focused mindset with a positive attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous experience in a delivery, courier, or related customer service role (even if informal)
  • Familiarity with the Orleans and greater Ottawa area
  • Ability to adapt to changing weather conditions and work schedules
