Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service at the circulation desk, assisting patrons with check-outs, returns, renewals, and holds.
- Assist patrons with locating library materials, using online catalogues, and accessing digital resources.
- Answer informational and reference questions, referring complex inquiries to appropriate staff.
- Process new library materials, including cataloging, shelving, and ensuring proper display.
- Maintain the organization and tidiness of library shelves and public areas.
- Assist in planning and executing library programs and events for various age groups (e.g., story times, workshops, book clubs).
- Handle cash transactions for fines and fees accurately.
- Support inter-library loan services.
- Troubleshoot basic technology issues for patrons (e.g., public computers, printing).
- Enforce library policies and procedures to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
