Your role will encompass the complete lifecycle of lighting for our diverse portfolio of events. You will be responsible for the meticulous planning and execution of lighting setups, beginning with efficient load-in and the precise rigging of a wide array of lighting fixtures, including intelligent moving lights, LED washes, conventional luminaires, and special effects units. Running and managing complex cabling systems, ensuring secure power distribution, and conducting thorough pre-show checks will be part of your routine to guarantee operational excellence. A key aspect of your work will involve programming and operating state-of-the-art lighting desks and control systems (such as DMX, Art-Net, and sACN), crafting stunning visual sequences that perfectly complement each event’s aesthetic and mood.

Key Responsibilities
- Execute the setup, programming, and operation of various lighting systems and consoles for live events.
- Perform rigging, focusing, and de-rigging of lighting fixtures, ensuring all equipment is safely secured.
- Conduct thorough pre-show checks, maintenance, and troubleshooting of lighting equipment to prevent technical issues.
- Collaborate effectively with production managers, stage managers, audio engineers, and video technicians to achieve cohesive event designs.
- Manage and organize power distribution, DMX, Art-Net, and sACN cabling infrastructure.
- Interpret and execute lighting plots, adapting designs as required during event setup and rehearsals.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, including working at height and electrical safety standards.
- Transport, load, and unload equipment safely and efficiently to and from event sites.
- Assist with the maintenance, repair, and inventory management of lighting equipment.
- Contribute creative input and technical expertise to enhance event production quality.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Lighting Technician in live events or stage production.
- Proficiency in operating and programming lighting consoles (e.g., Avolites, grandMA, Chamsys).
- Strong understanding of DMX, Art-Net, and sACN protocols and networking.
- Demonstrable experience with rigging techniques and safe working practices for overhead equipment.
- Solid knowledge of power distribution, electrical safety, and basic electronics.
- Ability to read and interpret lighting plots, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment and work at height.
- Full, clean UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal qualification in Lighting Design, Technical Theatre, or a related field.
- IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) and/or PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers' and Manufacturers' Association) certification.
- PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) qualification.
- Experience with CAD software for lighting design (e.g., Vectorworks Spotlight).
- Familiarity with media servers and video integration for lighting effects.
- First Aid certification.
