We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Litigation Associate to join our growing and dynamic legal team in Long Branch, Toronto. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies.
- Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, affidavits, briefs, and other court documents.
- Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to undertakings, interrogatories, and production requests.
- Prepare for and attend various court proceedings, including motions, examinations for discovery, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing clear and practical legal advice.
- Assist senior counsel in complex litigation matters, contributing to overall case strategy.
- Analyze evidence and factual information to identify key legal issues and develop persuasive arguments.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant court rules, procedures, and ethical obligations.
Required Skills
- Called to the Ontario Bar with 3-5 years of post-call experience in litigation.
- Demonstrated strong legal research and analytical skills.
- Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple files and prioritize tasks effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
