Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth interviews with loan applicants to assess financial needs and gather relevant information, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their financial position.
- Thoroughly evaluate credit applications, financial statements, and credit reports to determine creditworthiness, repayment capacity, and associated risks in line with company guidelines.
- Structure, negotiate, and approve loan terms and conditions, meticulously adhering to internal policies, regulatory compliance, and ethical lending practices.
- Prepare and process all necessary loan documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely execution from the initial application stage through to closing.
- Communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with applicants, providing guidance, explanations, and timely updates throughout the entire loan application and approval process.
- Monitor loan performance, manage existing loan portfolios, and proactively identify potential risks or opportunities for refinancing or restructuring to maintain portfolio health.
- Stay updated on industry trends, changes in lending regulations, and internal policies to ensure ongoing compliance, mitigate risks, and implement best practices in all operations.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, fostering trust and providing exceptional customer service to enhance client satisfaction and retention.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in credit evaluation, loan underwriting, and disbursement within a financial services environment.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make sound lending decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client interaction and internal collaboration.
- In-depth knowledge of lending products, financial regulations (e.g., FCA guidelines), and compliance requirements within the UK.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
