Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Logistics Assistant to join our vibrant team at a construction site in Beechborough-Greenbrook, Toronto. This pivotal role involves ensuring the seamless flow of materials, equipment, and supplies, which are crucial for our project’s success and timely completion. You will be instrumental in maintaining an organized and efficient site, supporting project managers and site supervisors by managing inventory, coordinating deliveries, and meticulously tracking all incoming and outgoing shipments. You will be the linchpin in our supply chain on-site, directly contributing to operational continuity and preventing costly delays. Your daily tasks will range from receiving and inspecting deliveries to updating inventory records and preparing materials for distribution across the site. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming and outgoing materials, equipment, and supplies on-site.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and freight companies for timely deliveries and pickups.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks, recordkeeping, and stock level maintenance.
  • Inspect delivered goods for damage or discrepancies against purchase orders.
  • Prepare and organize materials for distribution to various work areas on the construction site.
  • Operate light equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts if certified) for material handling.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storage area, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Liaise with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors regarding material needs.
  • Resolve logistical issues and discrepancies efficiently to prevent project delays.
  • Assist in preparing shipping documentation and reports as required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse operations, preferably in construction.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift and move materials, and work in various weather conditions typical of a construction site.
  • Valid G driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Forklift operator certification.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and processes.
  • Experience with construction site safety regulations.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
