Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule the movement of freight via road, sea, and air, ensuring optimal routes and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage delivery and collection schedules, liaising directly with clients, suppliers, carriers, and internal departments.
- Track and monitor shipments from dispatch to delivery, proactively identifying and resolving any potential delays or issues.
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including customs declarations, invoices, and manifests.
- Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, ensuring data integrity within our Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding shipment status, potential delays, and delivery arrangements.
- Negotiate rates with carriers and third-party logistics providers to secure competitive pricing and service levels.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant international and domestic shipping regulations, customs procedures, and company policies.
- Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to forecast demands and optimize logistics processes.
- Implement and adhere to health and safety standards throughout all logistics operations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain coordination role.
- Proven experience in scheduling and managing freight movements across various transport modes (road, sea, air).
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and data entry.
- Understanding of customs procedures and international shipping regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Knowledge of specific international shipping regulations (e.g., IMDG, IATA, ADR).
- Experience with a leading Transportation Management System (TMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CILT).
- Previous experience working with a global client base.
