Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule the movement of freight via road, sea, and air, ensuring optimal routes and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage delivery and collection schedules, liaising directly with clients, suppliers, carriers, and internal departments.
  • Track and monitor shipments from dispatch to delivery, proactively identifying and resolving any potential delays or issues.
  • Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including customs declarations, invoices, and manifests.
  • Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, ensuring data integrity within our Transportation Management System (TMS).
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding shipment status, potential delays, and delivery arrangements.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers and third-party logistics providers to secure competitive pricing and service levels.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant international and domestic shipping regulations, customs procedures, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to forecast demands and optimize logistics processes.
  • Implement and adhere to health and safety standards throughout all logistics operations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain coordination role.
  • Proven experience in scheduling and managing freight movements across various transport modes (road, sea, air).
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and data entry.
  • Understanding of customs procedures and international shipping regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of specific international shipping regulations (e.g., IMDG, IATA, ADR).
  • Experience with a leading Transportation Management System (TMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CILT).
  • Previous experience working with a global client base.
