Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage daily transport schedules and routes for optimal efficiency.
  • Liaise with drivers, ensuring they have all necessary documentation and instructions.
  • Track and monitor shipments from dispatch to delivery, providing real-time updates.
  • Resolve operational issues promptly, including delays, rerouting, and vehicle breakdowns.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transport activities, including manifests, proof of delivery, and vehicle maintenance schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery statuses, potential delays, and special requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
  • Assist with freight booking, capacity planning, and carrier selection.
  • Utilise transport management systems (TMS) and other software for planning and reporting.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure seamless inbound and outbound logistics.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar transport logistics role.
  • Strong understanding of transport regulations and documentation.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or professional qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
