Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a skilled and dedicated Low Voltage Technician specializing in commercial projects to join our growing team in Peel Village, Brampton. This pivotal role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a wide array of low voltage systems for our diverse commercial client base. You will be instrumental in deploying state-of-the-art solutions, including structured cabling (CAT5e, CAT6, fiber optic), access control systems, CCTV surveillance, intrusion detection, fire alarm systems, and audio-visual equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic) in commercial buildings.
- Install and configure access control systems, CCTV cameras, NVRs/DVRs, and related security components.
- Perform installation and programming of fire alarm system devices and associated wiring, ensuring compliance with codes.
- Set up and integrate commercial audio-visual equipment, including projectors, screens, sound systems, and control panels.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to ensure accurate system installations.
- Conduct thorough system testing and commissioning to verify functionality and performance.
- Diagnose and repair faults in existing low voltage systems, providing effective and timely solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of all installations, repairs, and service calls, including materials used and time spent.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Provide technical support and training to clients on newly installed or upgraded systems.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, other technicians, and clients to ensure project success.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician in a commercial setting.
- Proficiency in installing, terminating, and testing Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber optic cabling.
- Strong knowledge of security systems, including access control and CCTV.
- Familiarity with fire alarm system installation practices and basic programming.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Valid Ontario Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of professional client interaction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., BICSI Installer/Technician, Genetec, Axis, LenelS2, EST3).
- Experience with commercial audio-visual system integration.
- Post-secondary education or trade certification in electronics, telecommunications, or a related field.
- Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, routing, switching).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
