Hiring.zycto is seeking a motivated and energetic Entry-Level Lumber Yard Associate to join our dedicated team in Toronto. As a Lumber Yard Associate, you will be a vital part of our operations, ensuring that our customers receive the right materials efficiently and safely. Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload lumber and other building materials from delivery trucks and customer vehicles.
- Organize and maintain the lumber yard, ensuring materials are stored efficiently and neatly according to company standards.
- Assist customers with material selection, measuring, and loading their purchases, providing excellent service.
- Operate various equipment, such as forklifts and other machinery (training provided), under strict safety guidelines.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure product availability.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or unsafe conditions to management immediately.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth yard operations and customer satisfaction.
- Perform general maintenance tasks around the yard as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs consistently) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math skills for measuring and counting materials.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
Preferred Qualifications
