Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a motivated and energetic Entry-Level Lumber Yard Associate to join our dedicated team in Toronto. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely load and unload lumber and other building materials from delivery trucks and customer vehicles.
  • Organize and maintain the lumber yard, ensuring materials are stored efficiently and neatly according to company standards.
  • Assist customers with material selection, measuring, and loading their purchases, providing excellent service.
  • Operate various equipment, such as forklifts and other machinery (training provided), under strict safety guidelines.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure product availability.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Identify and report any damaged materials or unsafe conditions to management immediately.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth yard operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks around the yard as needed.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs consistently) and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and counting materials.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a physical labor role or outdoor work environment.
  • Interest in the building materials or construction industry.
  • Valid forklift operator's certification (asset, but training will be provided if needed).
