Key Responsibilities
- Supervise students in the lunchroom, playground, and common areas during meal times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Enforce school rules and codes of conduct consistently and fairly, promoting respectful behaviour among students.
- Assist students with minor needs such as opening food containers, addressing spills, or providing comfort.
- Mediate minor conflicts and encourage positive social interactions and problem-solving skills.
- Monitor for potential hazards or safety concerns and report any serious incidents, injuries, or behavioural issues to appropriate school staff immediately.
- Help maintain a clean and orderly lunchroom environment before, during, and after lunch periods.
- Collaborate effectively with school administration, teachers, and other support staff.
- Ensure students transition smoothly between the lunchroom, outdoor play, and classroom activities.
Required Skills
- Exceptional patience and a genuine love for working with elementary school-aged children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail for monitoring student activities and ensuring safety.
