Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic – Equipment Repair to join our operations in Netherton, Liverpool. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal functioning and longevity of our diverse range of industrial machinery and production equipment. We rely on your expertise to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on complex mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic components, and electromechanical devices. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on a diverse range of industrial machinery and production equipment.
  • Accurately diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and effectively troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Execute timely and efficient repairs, including replacing defective parts such as bearings, gears, motors, and precision components.
  • Conduct precise adjustments and calibrations to ensure optimal machine performance and adherence to specifications.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and industry health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment documentation.
  • Collaborate proactively with production teams and other departments to minimise operational disruption and enhance efficiency.
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and relocation of new industrial equipment and machinery.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including schematics and fluid power principles.
  • Proficiency in using a wide range of hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret technical manuals, engineering blueprints, and electrical/mechanical schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills with a methodical approach to fault finding.
  • Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations and best practices in an industrial environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with basic electrical troubleshooting, including motor controls and sensor diagnostics.
  • Forklift license or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Prior experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) for work order management and tracking.
