Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in all provided training sessions, demonstrating a strong eagerness to learn and apply new skills.
  • Assist experienced technicians with routine maintenance tasks across various property systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural elements.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance inspections and minor repairs as instructed.
  • Respond to and assist in resolving tenant maintenance requests efficiently and courteously.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and material usage.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Perform general upkeep and cleaning of mechanical rooms, tools, and work areas.
  • Support inventory management of tools and spare parts.
  • Help identify potential issues or hazards and report them to senior technicians or management.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure seamless property operations.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in how things work.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently after training.
  • Basic computer proficiency for work order systems and communication.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a desire for continuous learning.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License and access to reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a general labour role, customer service, or any field demonstrating hands-on ability.
  • Familiarity with basic tools and their safe operation.
  • Understanding of basic safety procedures in a workplace environment.
  • Any relevant vocational training or technical courses are a plus, but not required.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
