Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on facility equipment and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building structures.
- Conduct daily inspections of premises to identify and address potential maintenance issues proactively.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues, making necessary repairs or coordinating with external contractors for specialized work.
- Execute minor repairs and improvements, such as painting, carpentry, plastering, and general handyman tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, workshops, and storage facilities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and best practices.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of facilities for events, meetings, or specific operational needs.
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, notifying management of necessary reorders.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members and departments to ensure seamless facility operations.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in general maintenance, facilities, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve common maintenance issues efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity for various tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Valid UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in a trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- Experience with HVAC systems maintenance.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
