Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a diligent and dependable Maintenance Worker to join our night shift team at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver. This crucial role is responsible for ensuring the park’s facilities, grounds, and infrastructure are impeccably maintained, safe, and fully operational for visitors and staff. Working autonomously during overnight hours, you will be the eyes and hands responsible for preventative maintenance, urgent repairs, and general upkeep that contribute significantly to the park’s welcoming atmosphere and longevity. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on park facilities, equipment, and grounds during night hours.
- Respond promptly to and resolve maintenance requests and emergency repairs (e.g., plumbing leaks, electrical issues, equipment malfunctions).
- Conduct minor carpentry, painting, and general repair tasks as needed to maintain infrastructure and aesthetic standards.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met, including waste management, hazard identification, and groundskeeping.
- Operate and maintain a variety of tools, vehicles, and light machinery safely and effectively, adhering to all operational guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and inventory used for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate effectively with day shift staff for seamless operational handovers and coordination on ongoing projects or significant issues.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in general maintenance, facilities upkeep, or a related trade.
- Proficiency in performing minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to safely operate various hand and power tools, as well as light maintenance machinery.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues independently and efficiently.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities to prioritize tasks effectively during the night shift.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bend, stoop, and work in various weather conditions.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
