Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a diligent and experienced Maintenance Worker with a strong focus on repairs and fixing to join our dedicated team in Renfrew, Glasgow. This vital role involves ensuring the operational efficiency and physical integrity of our various properties, performing a wide range of maintenance tasks to a high standard. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of general maintenance practices, covering everything from minor plumbing and electrical issues to carpentry, painting, and general structural repairs. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and facilities.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural issues.
  • Execute repairs including carpentry, painting, plastering, tiling, and basic plumbing/electrical work.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify and address potential maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed, materials used, and equipment serviced.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment and fixtures as required.
  • Collaborate with other team members and external contractors when necessary.
  • Manage and organize maintenance tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Worker or Handyperson.
  • Proficiency in a variety of trades including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations pertinent to maintenance work.
  • Ability to use a wide range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Good physical condition and strength, with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant trade qualification or certification (e.g., NVQ in Maintenance Operations).
  • Experience with HVAC systems.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of building management systems (BMS).
  • Familiarity with local Renfrew and Glasgow area suppliers and contractors.
