Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer – Professional to join our dynamic team in Dorval, Montreal. This critical role is central to enhancing our production capabilities, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between design and production, ensuring that our products are manufactured efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards.
Your responsibilities will span the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept to final assembly. You will lead initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and implement advanced manufacturing techniques. This involves a deep dive into current processes, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing innovative solutions leveraging Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. You will collaborate closely with R&D during new product introductions, ensuring design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA) are integrated from the outset. Your expertise will be vital in developing and maintaining robust manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Lead and champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to drive continuous improvement across production lines.
- Design, procure, and qualify jigs, fixtures, and specialized tooling to support manufacturing operations.
- Perform root cause analysis on manufacturing defects and production inefficiencies, implementing robust corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Production teams during new product introduction (NPI) and ongoing production.
- Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with internal quality standards, industry regulations, and safety protocols.
- Generate, maintain, and update detailed manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow charts, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Evaluate and implement new technologies, automation, and equipment to enhance production capabilities and capacity.
- Conduct capacity planning, layout optimization, and material flow analysis to maximize operational throughput.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing engineering role within a relevant industry.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred).
- Strong command of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for design and analysis of manufacturing components and tooling.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or an MBA with a technical focus.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Quebec or eligibility.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is a significant asset.
- Experience with automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Project management experience or certification (PMP).
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other relevant industry quality standards.
